Deployment of infrastructure outside of a LAN environment can introduce delays in the speed that applications take to respond to commands. This network latency varies depending on location, bandwidth, network traffic, packet loss and other factors such as the application design. All of this can annoy users and threaten the success of a cloud deployment.

To counter this, we use two types of WAN Acceleration technology in our cloud deployments.

Replication technology de-duplicates data at 90% efficiency, and replicates changes at byte level efficiency. This reduces WAN traffic and replication times, freeing up bandwidth for other purposes and reducing expenses. It also allows for a low Recovery Point Objective of 15 minutes or less for most applications.

The second solution dramatically speeds up application response times by up to 95%, is software based and runs as a virtual appliance within our MicroPod. This means that no dedicated hardware is required and the solution can be easily upgraded without license costs or capital expenses.
