De-duplication

Part of the reason for the exponential rate of data growth is the way users continuously duplicate and copy data. EG: Emails are carbon copied to groups of users over and over, documents and images are versioned, received data sets are copied, edited and copied again.

De-duplication technology is an essential element in containing data growth and storage costs. We utilize market leading de-duplication technology which operates at the byte level to help clients manage data storage both on premise, and in the cloud.

De-duplication is also essential in reducing connectivity costs and replication times in moving datasets across WAN links for backup and archival purposes.

Typical de-duplication ratios are 20:1 or better meaning that 20 TB of data can be reduced to 1TB or less.
